the short version: no ads, nothing sold

Privacy policy

Last updated 17 October 2026

In short: we keep what the game needs to work: how you sign in (Telegram, Google or a password), the name you play under, your friends, and your games and tournaments. There are no ads, no ad trackers, and we never sell your data. The camera is only used to scan invite QR codes.

This policy covers Desto Finger: the Telegram bot @DestoeFingerBot, the app for Android and iPhone, the web app at play.destofinger.com and this website. "We" means the team that runs Desto Finger. Questions: hello@destofinger.com.

What we collect

From Telegram, when you sign in or use the bot

  • your Telegram user ID
  • your Telegram first name and username (if you have one)

We never see your phone number, your contacts or your messages.

From Google, if you sign in with Google

  • your Google account ID
  • your name and your verified email address

We use these to sign you in and to suggest your first game name (other players see your game name; you can change it any time). Your email is shown only to you and our admins, never to other players.

If you set a password

A password is stored only as a one-way hash, so nobody at Desto Finger can read it back.

What you create while playing

  • your game name and display name
  • friend requests and your friends list
  • your games, rooms and tournaments: the code names you claim, the fingers you throw, scores, results and brackets
  • for games played in a Telegram group: which group it was, so the group's leaderboard works

To keep your account safe

  • sign-in codes and sessions, with the IP address and browser or device they came from
  • when you were last seen, and whether the bot is able to message you

The camera

The app asks for the camera only when you choose to scan an invite QR code. The picture is read on your device to find the code; it is never uploaded or stored. You can say no and type the code instead.

When the app hits an error

If the app crashes or a screen fails to load, it sends us the error message, where in the code it happened, the screen it was on, the app version and whether it was Android, iPhone or the web, linked to your account if you're signed in. No IP address is kept with it. We keep these reports for 30 days and use them only to fix problems.

What we don't collect

No location, no contacts, no payment details, no advertising IDs. Desto Finger shows no ads and contains no advertising or analytics trackers.

How we use it

  • to run games and tournaments and keep score
  • to show your friends, invites and leaderboards
  • to send you game messages through the bot (your turn, invites, results)
  • to keep accounts secure and stop cheating and abuse
  • to fix problems and make the game better

Who can see it

  • Other players see your game name and display name, and the games and tournaments you play with them. Members of a Telegram group see that group's leaderboard.
  • Telegram carries the bot's messages, underTelegram's own privacy policy.
  • Our hosting providers store the data for us and may not use it for anything else.
  • The law: we will share data only if we are legally required to.

We do not sell or rent your data to anyone.

How long we keep it

We keep your account while you use it. Sign-in codes expire quickly and sessions expire on their own.

When you ask to delete your account, it is deleted 24 hours later (you can keep it until then). We delete your name and game name, your sign-in methods (your Telegram link with its ID, username and first name; your Google account ID, name and email; your password hash), your sign-in sessions, and your friends and friend requests; games you're still playing are forfeited.

What stays after deletion:

  • finished games and Tournament results, under an anonymous name such asdeleted_player_7k2q
  • messages already posted in Telegram groups and channels, which may still show your old name
  • security logs that hold only an internal ID
  • error reports from the last 30 days, no longer linked to you
  • if the account was banned, one-way codes made from your Telegram ID and Google account ID, so the ban still applies if either signs up again

How to do it: Delete your Desto Finger account.

Your choices

  • change your game name at any time (in the app, or /name in the bot)
  • ask us for a copy of your data, or to correct it
  • delete your account (Me → Delete account in the app, /delete in the bot, or see Delete your Desto Finger account)

Write to hello@destofinger.com for anything else. We reply within 30 days.

Changes

If we change this policy we will update the date at the top, and tell you in the app or bot when the change matters.
